Rusher's attendance advances the efforts of Resolute Castle 2017 in support of Operation Atlantic Resolve. Resolute Castle 17 is an exercise strengthening the NATO alliance and enhancing its capacity for joint training and response to threats within the region.

Maiocco Jr., Commanding General, 85th Support Command, explains during a New Command Teams Orientation brief on May 20, 2017 in Arlington Heights, Ill. why it is so important to understand the unique partnership between the 85th SPT CMD and First Army. He shared that First Army is an “executive agent for training and training validation” in the Army. And the 85th Support Command is embedded as an operationally controlled element of First Army, and it is critical that we are synchronized to support that mission.
