Richardson (left), Command Career Counselor, USARPAC, presents Sgt. 1st Class Chad Emrick, a U.S. Army Reserve Component Career Counselor, the USARPAC Reserve Component Career Counselor of the Year award. Emrick earned the award during USARPAC's annual career counselor competition that consists of the Army physical fitness test, written exam, and a board appearance.

Bell, Torres and five other Army Reserve Soldiers constructed several wooden garden beds to help revive  Orlando’s Colonialtown North Community Garden to its former, greener glory. Directed by Green Works Orlando in conjunction with the NFL’s Environmental Program, the garden’s revival was one of the many community projects both organizations managed to lighten the environmental footprint produced by the tens of thousands of football fans who have flocked to The City Beautiful to watch the NFL’s first Pro Bowl game to take place in the Continental U.S. since 1979.

Army Reserve leader pays tribute to New Jersey veterans

Maj. Gen. Troy D. Kok, commanding general of the U.S. Army Reserve’s 99th Regional Support Command headquartered at Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst, New Jersey, meets with Jane M. Underkofler, an Air Force first lieutenant who served as a registered nurse, during a Jan. 28 visit to the New Jersey Department of Military and Veterans Affairs’ Veterans Memorial Home in Vineland, New Jersey. The purpose of Kok’s visit was to thank veterans for their service and encourage young Soldiers to spend time with veterans in their local area.

CROWS are flying to the Army Reserve

The Common Remotely Operated Weapon Station (CROWS) is mounted on top of a High Mobility Multipurpose Wheeled Vehicle during a fielding to U.S. Army Reserve units at Fort Chaffee, Arkansas, Jan. 23-27, as part of a four-part fielding process intended to field CROWS to more than 25 Army Reserve units this fiscal year. The CROWS is a remote-controlled system compatible with four major crew-serve weapons, and it was developed to keep gunners safe within the vehicle while engaging enemy targets.
