US Army Reserve engineers field new mine clearing vehicle

An M1271 Medium Flail Mine Clearing Vehicle is equipped with a rotating flail and 72 chains with fist-sized balls, or hammers, at the end of the chains. As the vehicle drives backwards over the designated area, the flail rotates and the chains dig into the ground tearing mines apart or detonating them. The driver is protected by a deflector shield of armored steel, protecting the both the driver and vehicle against blast pressure and mine fragments.

Paulie’s Posse

A team from the MIRC's 3100 SIG joined thousands of others participants from the National Capital Region to support Autism awareness and research today on the National Mall. This team of 28 soldiers and family members, AKA Paulie's Posse, raised over $5,000 for the charity. Overall, nearly $500,000 was donated for the D.C. event.

released to Army Suicide Awareness
and Prevention managers at the U.S.
Army Reserve Command headquarters
at Fort Bragg, N.C. The review
gave them a better understanding of
what caused these Soldiers to end
their lives and paves the way ahead
to prevent or reduce more tragic losses
