Wounded Warrior Responsibilities

• Keep in contact with Soldiers and Family members attached to a Warrior Transition unit. 

• Ensure their Soldiers have access to them, they fully understand the Wounded Transition program, and know that they will have the full support of their leadership at their disposal while in an attached status. 

• Ensure the Army Reserve staff understands their responsibility and executes functions accordingly to support the Soldier and their Family in a timely manner. 

• Assigned is to place personnel in an organization where such placement is relatively permanent, and/or where such organization controls or administers personnel for the primary functions of the unit. 

•Attached is the placement of personnel in an organization where such placement is relatively temporary. 

The commander of the unit that receives the attachment is responsible for the sustainment and logistics support that is beyond the capability of the attached unit.

•  Ensure leadership is kept abreast of their status. Follow the medical recommendations of their physicians. 
•  Ensure WT leadership is aware of all issues up front to allow resolution at the lowest level. 
•  Keep their Family informed of their status and other key information. 

Be a tool in the tool kit of the Soldier and Commander/AR Staff to link the two together when needed to resolve admin issues.

Capture, review, and provide best business practices to develop policy for the facilitation of smooth transition of Army Soldiers. 

LNOs are not there to replace the Warrior Transition Cadre, but there to aid them in gaining resolution of issues that require the involvement of the Army Reserve Command cell and unit staff. 

LNOs will: 

• Identify and document lessons learned and communicate data to Program Manager to facilitate process improvements

 Report issues that are beyond the scope of local resolution

• Seek out all opportunities to interact with Soldiers

• Maintain independence, neutrality and impartiality

• Assist in decreasing process delays

• Answer questions, resolve issues, obtain accurate information, expedite services. NOT a means of circumventing the chain of command

• Utilize administrative, organizational, listening and problem-solving skills
