Chief Warrant Officer Five Joseph
P. Phoebus III became the first Command Chief Warrant Officer (CCWO) for the 84th
Training Command (Unit Readiness) in November 2014.
As the CCWO, he represents
and advises the Commanding General and 84th Training Command on
matters pertaining to recruitment, training and education, career management,
leader development and warrior transition issues for assigned Warrant Officers.
He is also
responsible for coordinating policy
and statutory changes to support the advancement of initiatives for the Warrant
Officer Corps within the command.
Chief Phoebus joined the Army as a
Private on June 28, 1979 as a Wheeled Power Generator Mechanic. During more
than 35 years of Active Duty, National Guard and Reserve service, he has served
around the globe and at all echelons from tactical to strategic.
In March 2005,
he was mobilized to support Operation Enduring Freedom and served as the
Maintenance Material Management Officer for Task Force Phoenix, Kabul
Afghanistan.
In May 2010, he mobilized again in support of Operation
Enduring Freedom as a Senior Maintenance, Logistical Officer for Special
Operation Task Force-East, Bagram, Afghanistan.
His previous assignments include

Battalion Maintenance Officer 3rd 20th Special Forces
Group, Starke, Florida, Brigade Maintenance Warrant Officer, 53rd

Artillery, Sarasota, Florida, and a fulltime Supervisory Surface Maintenance
Specialist Military Technician for the Joint Forces Headquarters (J-4 DSCLOG),
Camp Blanding Joint Training Site, Florida.
He most recently served as the
Branch Chief G4, Senior Ground Maintenance Warrant Officer for the 143rd
Sustainment Command (Expeditionary) and 1st Sustainment Command
(Theater) in support of Operation Enduring Freedom.
His military education includes the
Warrant Officer Senior Staff Course, Warrant Officer Staff Course, Special
Forces Basic Combat Course, Maintenance Material Management Course, Defense
Equal Opportunity Management Institute Counselor Course, Supervisory Development
Course, Noncommissioned Officer Course, Primary Leadership Development Course,

married to Mrs. Mary Schlemlein and resides in Green Cove
Springs,
Florida.
