Brig. Gen. Melissa K.G. Adamski

Commander, Military Intelligence Readiness Command

Brigadier General (BG) Adamski was commissioned from New Mexico Military Institute in 1997 and continued her education at Virginia Military Institute (VMI) while serving in the Virginia Army National Guard. In 1999 she entered Active Duty in the Field Artillery Corps serving as a company executive officer, and later fire direction officer at Fort Sill, Oklahoma.  As a Captain, BG Adamski transferred to the Military Intelligence Corps and served as the Brigade Intelligence Officer (S2) for 214th Field Artillery Brigade deploying forward to Iraq in support of OPERATION IRAQI FREEDOM I. Upon completion of her deployment, she was assigned as the S2 for 6th Battalion, 52nd Air Defense Artillery in Ansbach, Germany. She was selected to be the Brigade S2 for 12th Aviation Brigade in Giebelstadt, Germany and deployed forward to Afghanistan in support of OPERATION ENDURING FREEDOM. She was then assigned as the S2 for the Special Troops Battalion, 173rd Airborne Brigade Combat Team (ABCT) and then commander of the 173rd ABCT’s Military Intelligence Company in Bamberg, Germany and deployed forward to Afghanistan is support of OPERATION ENDURING FREEDOM. Upon redeployment, BG Adamski was assigned to the Pentagon as the Training Officer for the Department of the Army Chief of Staff for Intelligence (G2). BG Adamski transitioned to the Army Reserve in 2009 where she was assigned to the 3200th Strategic Intelligence Group (SIG) and served as the Joint Reserve Intelligence Unit Chief of Staff in support of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Director for Intelligence (J2) and later as an Intelligence Officer in the Afghanistan/Pakistan Task Force. She served on active duty as the Chief of Operations and the Chief of Training at the Military Intelligence Readiness Command. In 2015, she took command of Detachment 2, 3300th SIG and later served as the G2 for 75th Innovation Command which provides Direct Support to Army Futures Command. BG Adamski commanded the 3200th Strategic Intelligence Group for two years, prior to serving as the Director of the Commander’s Action Group at United States Army Cyber Command. She then took command of the Training Support Command of the Military Intelligence Readiness Command. BG Adamski assumed command of the Military Intelligence Readiness Command in June 2023.

BG Adamski holds an Associate of Arts degree in Liberal Arts from New Mexico Military Institute, a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Virginia Military Institute, a Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology from Bowie State University, a Master of Science in Strategic Intelligence from the National Intelligence University, a Master of Strategic Studies from United States Army War College, and a Master of Business Administration from Massachusetts Institute of Technology.  She is a graduate of the Airborne Course, Field Artillery Officer Basic Course, the Military Intelligence Officer Transition Course, the Military Intelligence Captain’s Career Course, the Electronic Warfare/Signals Intelligence Tactical Operations Officers Course, the Combined Arms Services Staff School, the Command and General Staff College.

BG Adamski’s awards and decorations include the Bronze Star Medal (2 Oak Leaf Clusters), Meritorious Service Medal (Silver Oak Leaf Cluster), Joint Service Commendation Medal, Joint Chiefs of Staff Identification Badge, and Army Staff Identification Badge.     

BG Adamski is married to U.S. Army COL Michael Adamski. They have 2 children.
