Soldiers assigned to the 85th U.S. Army Reserve Support Command participated in parades and ceremonies, honoring fallen heroes, during Memorial Day weekend May 25-27, 2019. Brig. Gen. Kris Belanger, Commanding General, 85th USARSC and Cmd. Sgt. Maj. Theodore Dewitt, Command Sergeant Major, 85th USARSC, participated in a Gold Star Family Breakfast Saturday morning in Chicago to honor the sacrifice of fallen military heroes and then walked to Daley Plaza to participate in a wreath laying ceremony. Maj. Gen. Marion Garcia, Commanding General, 200th Military Police Command, spoke at the ceremony about a Soldier she had served with who died on active duty. Following the ceremony, military leaders walked to Lake and State Street for the Chicago Memorial Day parade and observed the parade from the reviewing stand.
