Medical Soldiers skills tested at Regional Medic
Lt. Col. Robert Steckler, a general surgeon from the Army Reserve's 479th Medical Detachment conducts an exploratory laparotomy for a perforated bowel on a surgical cut suit during Regional Medic at Fort McCoy, Wis., July 16, 2021. A cut suit is comprised of simulated internal organs that can be used to mimic realistic traumatic events that might occur on a live casualty. The Army Reserve’s Combat Support Training Program exercises prepare units to be combat-ready by immersing them in realistic training scenarios.
