Black Chamber of Orange County pays homage to Buffalo Soldier legacy
Marine Veteran Rachel Bartlett sings the national anthem while reenactors from the Buffalo Soldiers Mounted Cavalry Unit present the colors at the opening of the Black Chamber of Orange County’s Annual Banquet at the Disneyland Hotel August 27, 2016, in Anaheim, Calif. The banquet, held annually, highlights a black history theme each year. This year’s theme was the legacy of Buffalo Soldiers, or Soldiers who served in segregated African-American units from 1866-1954.
