McALLEN, Texas - Army Reserve combat medic Okan Pekgil promoted to the rank of specialist by Col. Robert Black during a ceremony at the Veteran’s war memorial in McAllen, Texas, on Sept. 4, 2020. Okan, a member of Urban Augmentation Medical Task Force -7452 assigned to DHR Health in Edinburg, Texas, was mobilized as part of the Department of Defense assistance to the Federal Emergency Management Agency response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
