MUSCATATUCK URBAN TRAINING CENTER, Ind. - Pfc. Tyler Berkman and Sgt. Evelio Vinasco, engineers assigned to the 526th Engineer Construction Company based out of Fort Stewart, Ga, cut a slab of concrete covering an underground access hatch where a simulated injured man is trapped on May 9, 2022. The scene is part of an exercise called Guardian Response 22 held at the Muscatatuck Urban Training Center, Ind., and is designed to sharpen the skills, boost capabilities and improve mission readiness of U.S. Army units assigned to the Department of Defense’s Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear Response Enterprise.
