7th MSC, guests celebrate 110th Army Reserve birthday

7th Mission Support Command

The 7th Mission Support Command had some guests to help celebrate the 110th birthday of the United States Army Reserve.

Command Sergeant Major Ted L. Copeland, the Army Reserve’s senior enlisted leader, and Big. Gen. Alberto Rosende, the assistant to the deputy commanding general of USARC were in Germany for the Mission Readiness Review, and joined the leaders and Soldiers in two celebrations.

The leaders visited the Soldiers of the 7th MSC’s 361st Civil Affairs Brigade at the weapons qualification range in Baumholder, Germany, where they cut a birthday cake after spending the morning observing training. They also took part in a ceremony during a 7th MSC senior leaders’ event at a local restaurant.

April 23, 2018 marks 110 years of Army Reserve service to the Army and nation. In 1908, the Army Reserve started as a small corps of medical professionals held in readiness. Today it is a global operational reserve force – meeting high operational demands, generating forces, providing predictable capabilities in direct support of America’s active duty forces.

The Army Reserve has about 200,000 Soldiers across 20 time zones, poised, positioned, and ready to defend freedom on every front. It is the most capable, combat-ready and lethal federal reserve force in history.

In Europe, the 7th Mission Support Command is headquartered in Kaiserslautern, Germany. It is the Army Reserve’s only forwd-stationed general officer command in Europe. The 7th MSC has nearly 1,000 Soldiers assigned to 22 reserve units, in Kaiserslautern, Wiesbaden and Grafenwoehr, Germany and Vicenza, Italy.
