Army Reserve Ambassador Robert B. Breck retired from the Utah Highway Patrol as a Field Sergeant after a successful 20-year career. During his time with UHP, he was a member of the SWAT Team with a specialty in explosive entry technique. He was also a less-than-lethal weapons instructor, as well as a motorcycle instructor. Ambassador Breck helped to introduce and create a Spanish law enforcement class for the Police Academy and taught the satellite program at two state colleges. He also worked as a member of the Emergency Response Coordination Team at the Salt Lake County Field Office. In addition to his UHP career, Ambassador Breck retired as Command Sergeant Major with 37-years of service. He was an enlisted Soldier in the Army, as well as served with the Army National Guard and the Army Reserve. During his tenure as a Soldier, Ambassador Breck served as a member of the Senior Enlisted Counsel for the Army Reserve Command Sergeant Major. This work was especially gratifying as the Counsel made significant contributions to the health, welfare, and readiness of Soldiers, civilian counterparts, and their family members. Throughout his career, Ambassador Breck received several awards, to include the Legion of Merit (w/10LC), Bronze Star, and the Purple Heart. Ambassador Breck continues to use his leadership skills as a volunteer at the local high school as a mentor. He teaches leadership classes and is also a driver’s education instructor.
