Army Reserve Launches Site Assessments Project, Master Plan for Electric Vehicle Charging Facilities and Support Equipment
February 14, 2024 — As electric vehicle (EV) fleet needs are planned at Army Reserve Centers across America, the Army Reserve Installation Management Directorate has launched a master planning initiative with support from the U.S. Army Engineering and Support Center, Huntsville. The planning effort includes multiple site assessments to bridge the gap between planned EV fleets and the required charging infrastructure to support it. Bill Young Armed Forces Reserve Center in Pinellas Park, FL. Hosted by the Army Reserve Installation Management Directorate (ARIMD), participants reviewed policy, responsibilities, and guidance, and were provided the necessary tools to effectively utilize all four components of the ISR program. December 15, 2023 — The U.S. Army Reserve’s 9th Mission Support Command (9th MSC), Hawaii, is partnering with organizations across the Pacific to establish new recycling programs in places such as American Samoa, Guam, Saipan, and Alaska. Without ready access to traditional recycling programs, the 9th MSC has sought out creative ways to divert carboard, plastic bottles, aluminum cans, e-waste, and more. Army Reserve Hosts National Public Lands Day Event
October 12, 2023 — The Office of the Chief, Army Reserve hosted a National Public Lands Day community event at Fort Belvoir’s Truman Hall on Friday, 29 September. Nearly 25 Army Reserve personnel from various directorates and branches, along with family members, volunteered to weed, plant, and mulch the overgrown pollinator gardens at the building’s entrance. Parks Reserve Forces Training Area Focuses on Resilient Energy
July 31, 2023 — Exciting energy-focused initiatives continue at Parks Reserve Forces Training Area (PRFTA) in Dublin, CA. On 14 July, the installation held an official ribbon cutting ceremony for two Level 3 and five Level 2 new electric vehicle dual port charging stations. This makes PRFTA the first military installation to install the chargers under a pilot program partnership with the Defense Innovation Unit (DIU).
