Army Reserve Participates in Solid Waste Pilot Programs
October 25, 2023 — Two Army Reserve-funded installations have been selected to participate in piloting innovative solid waste technologies to more efficiently and effectively divert waste from landfills throughout the Army. The pilots are spearheaded by the Army’s Deputy Chief of Staff, G-9 Installations and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineer’s Engineer Research and Development Center (specifically the Construction Engineer Research Lab). Army Reserve Hosts National Public Lands Day Event
October 12, 2023 — The Office of the Chief, Army Reserve hosted a National Public Lands Day community event at Fort Belvoir’s Truman Hall on Friday, 29 September. Nearly 25 Army Reserve personnel from various directorates and branches, along with family members, volunteered to weed, plant, and mulch the overgrown pollinator gardens at the building’s entrance. Parks Reserve Forces Training Area Focuses on Resilient Energy
July 31, 2023 — Exciting energy-focused initiatives continue at Parks Reserve Forces Training Area (PRFTA) in Dublin, CA. On 14 July, the installation held an official ribbon cutting ceremony for two Level 3 and five Level 2 new electric vehicle dual port charging stations. This makes PRFTA the first military installation to install the chargers under a pilot program partnership with the Defense Innovation Unit (DIU). June 9, 2022 — As the Army’s demonstration installation for energy and water resilience, California’s Fort Hunter Liggett is focused on enhancing the cybersecurity of the post’s innovative microgrid system. Partnering with the Office of the Secretary of Defense's (OSD) Directorate of Digital Services (DDS) in the Chief Digital and Artificial Intelligence Office (CDAO) and Lawrence Berkely National Lab, the Army Reserve-funded installation is participating in national conferences to leverage the expertise of “white hat” ethical hackers.
