Parks Reserve Forces Training Area Increases Renewable Energy: Solar Array Ribbon Cutting Ceremony
May 27, 2022 — Parks Reserve Forces Training Area (PRFTA) is celebrating another step closer to uninterrupted access to electricity. On May 24, the Army Reserve-funded installation held a ribbon cutting ceremony to commemorate the addition of two megawatts of renewable energy through a newly activated solar array. April 11, 2022 — Devens Reserve Forces Training Area (DRFTA) is one of many Army Reserve installations experiencing impressive energy and water resilience achievements in the face of climate change and cybersecurity threats. Beginning in the first quarter of fiscal year 2021, a new initiative enabled DRFTA to quickly identify significant water leaks and execute repairs. Recently, a multi-phase infrastructure acquisition plan launched to pilot an electric vehicle (EV) program and transition non-tactical vehicles (NTV) to an all Battery Electric Vehicles (BEV) and Plug-In Hybrid Electric Vehicles (PHEV) fleet.
