Army Reserve soldier 'enlists' former president to aid in ceremony
In this image released by the Army Reserve's Military Intelligence Readiness Command, former President George H.W. Bush (right) and Master Sgt. Branden Young (left) share a moment after Bush signed as the witness to Young's military re-enlistment contract during a ceremony in Houston, Texas, Friday, April 25, 2014. Young, a Virginia-based reservist, successfully requested Bush as the official to preside over the ceremony and sign the required documents. Young -- along with his family, friends and members of his unit -- traveled to Bush's post-presidential office in Houston for the event. Military units use formal re-enlistment ceremonies as a way to recognize ongoing service, as well as to encourage retention. (Photo/75th Training Command, Army Reserve Maj. Adam Collett)
