Chief Warrant Officer Five ROBERT S. COMBS assumed the duties as the interim Command Chief Warrant Officer of the 200 MPCOM, United States Army Reserve on 1 October 2015.  In this position he is responsible for all Army Reserve Warrant Officers within the 200 MPCOM.  He also serves as the senior warrant officer advisor to the Commanding General of the 200 MPCOM.  CW5 Combs also serves as the Command Readiness/Maintenance Officer.  

CW5 Combs enlisted into the Michigan National Guard in Oct 1981, completing Basic Training at Ft. McClelland AL and Utility Helicopter Repairer Course at Ft. Rucker, AL in 1982.  As an enlisted Soldier he was assigned to the 46th Engineer Group in Flint, MI with aviation duties at the Army Aviation Support Facility in Grand Ledge, MI. He served as crew chief on both UH-1H Huey and OH-58 Kiowa helicopters.  He transferred from the National Guard to the Army Reserve in May 1984, and was assigned to the 354th MEDEVAC Medical Detachment (Air Ambulance) at Selfridge ANGB, Mount Clemons, MI. The unit deactivated and reorganized in 1988 as the 3/158th Aviation Regiment, Alpha Company (Air Assault) Blackhawk. He attended the reclassification UH-60 Blackhawk Utility Helicopter Repairer course and the Technical Inspector course. He was reassigned as Technical Inspector with the HHC, 3/158th Aviation Regiment, Delta Company, Glenview Naval Air Station, Glenview, IL. He transferred to the 85th Civil Defense in 1995, currently known as the 85th Support Command, 3/337th AUG BN, Selfridge ANGB, MI as an Observer Controller. He was awarded the Light Wheeled Vehicle Repairer MOS (63B).  

Mr. Combs was selected as an Automotive Maintenance Warrant Officer (915A) in 1997 and assigned to the 310th Maintenance Company, Jackson, MI which later reorganized in 1998 as the 377th Maintenance Company, Detachment 1, Lansing, MI.  As an Automotive Maintenance Officer, he was activated in support of Operation Enduring Freedom and deployed to Iraq from 2003 to 2005 with the 724th Transportation Company, Bartonville, IL.  Mr. Combs was accepted into the AGR program in September 2005 with his initial assignment at the 94th Regional Support Command, Ft. Devens, MA as the Senior Maintenance Officer on the Command Readiness Team.  The 94th RSC deactivated in 2008 moving his position to Headquarters, USARC, Ft. McPherson, GA.  In 2010, Mr. Combs assumed the Senior Command Maintenance Technician position with the newly activated 518th Sustainment Brigade, Durham, NC until 2012. Mr. Combs transferred to the Regional Training Site Maintenance as the Maintenance Officer until 2014.  Mr. Combs was selected for CW5 in 2014 with duties at the 200 MPCOM as the Maintenance/Readiness Officer.          

His assignments have included Maintenance Readiness Officer, Command and Unit Maintenance Officer, Safety Officer, Contracting Officer, and Action Officer.     

CW5 Combs has completed the Automotive Maintenance Technician (915A) Warrant Officer Basic Course, Warrant Officer Advance Course, Knowledge Management Integrator Course, Army Maintenance Management Course, Contracting Officer Representative Course, Action Officer Course, Warrant Officer Staff Course, and Warrant Officer Senior Staff Course. He has also has completed the Unit Movement Officers Course, SAMS-1E Managers Course, Physical Security Course, Observer Controller Course, Aviation Life Support Equipment Course, and the Aircraft Technical Inspector Course. 

CW5 Combs’s awards and decorations include the Bronze Star, Meritorious Service Medal (4rd Award), Army Commendation Medal, Army Achievement Medal, Army Reserve Component Achievement Medal (5th Award), National Defense Service Medal w/Bronze Star, Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Armed Forces Reserve Medal w/M device and Gold Hourglass device, Army NCO Professional Development Ribbon, Army Service Ribbon, Army Overseas Service Ribbon, Army Reserve Component Overseas Training Ribbon (4th Award), Combat Action Badge, Senior Aviation Badge.  

His duty assignments include tours in Egypt, Honduras (2), Germany (2), Iraq, and Canada.  

He is currently married to Colleen O’Brien-Combs and has two daughters, Jenna Marie and Abigail Nicole.
