Detachment 6 deploys for Mideast mission

U.S. Army Reserve Soldiers wth Detachment 6, 335th Signal Command (Theater), sing the Army Song during their deployment ceremony at the command headquarters in East Point, Ga., Feb. 12, 2017. The detachment left for a nine-month mission in the Middle East after the ceremony.

Bernardo Rios, a Food Service NCO for the 311th Sustainment Command (Expeditionary), blanches vegetables while preparing a meal out of a mobile kitchen trailer at the Orlando Armed Forces Reserve Center. Former Soldier and gold-winning boxer sees daughters complete initial entry training at Fort Lee

Olympic gold medalist and former champion boxer Ray “Merciless” Mercer poses with twin daughters Ramia and Raina, and wife Krystal, after the twins’ graduation from the Automated Logistical Course Friday at Mullins Auditorium. Ramia and Raina Mercer are U.S. Army Reservists who plan on enrolling in college and becoming pediatricians. Mercer was one of three boxing Soldiers who reigned victorious in the 1988 Seoul Olympics.  He also had a successful career as a professional, winning World Boxing Organization and North American Boxing Federation titles.
