U.S. Army Reserve Criminal Investigation Division Special Agents participate in their annual training ‘Guardian Shield’ during May, 2023, at Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst, N.J. CID is made up of professional, federal law enforcement officers who investigate felony crimes. CID Special Agents are commonly in suits and plain clothes as they conduct their investigations. Military Police officers are uniformed officers who may perform traffic duties on base, law and order policing, or detainee and detention operations abroad. Annual trainings like GS23 are essential to mission success not only for classroom and weapons qualifications, but also for agents to network and leverage experience from multiple law enforcement backgrounds.

U.S. Army Reserve Soldiers assigned to the 718th Engineer Company, based in Fort Benning, Ga., assess a site to improve a berm in order to place a fuel blivets, a collapsible tank, during Combat Support Training Exercise 91-17-03, July 18, 2017 at Fort Hunter Liggett, Calif. Approximately 5,000 Army Reserve and National Guard forces participated in the exercise. First Army provided about 65 observer coach/trainers to augment their Army Reserve partners at the 91st Training Division and assist in training the most capable, combat-ready and lethal federal reserve force in the history of the nation.

Inland Pipeline Distribution System during QLLEX 2017, July 21, at Fort Bragg, NC. QLLEX, short for Quartermaster Liquid Logistics Exercise, is the U.S. Army Reserve’s premier readiness exercise for fuel and water distribution. This year’s QLLEX is not only a full demonstration of the capability, combat-readiness, and lethality of America’s Army Reserve to put fuel and water where it is needed most – in the vehicles and hands of the war-fighter and maneuver units – but it also further exercises the interoperability of the U.S. Army Reserve alongside active Army and British Army logisticians. Brig. Gen. Frederick R. Maiocco Jr., 85th Support Command commanding general, relinquished the command colors to Maj. Gen. Tracy A. Thompson, Deputy Commanding General for Support, U.S. Army Reserve. The Army Reserve’s 85th Support Command, partnered with First Army, is made up of 46 Army Reserve battalions, nine brigade support elements, and nearly 4,300 Soldiers and Civilians spanning the continental United States and Puerto Rico. The units generate combat-ready units and Soldiers for the Army that are trained, equipped and lethal to win the nation’s wars.

Army Reserve general meets with Gold Star Families in Memorial Day ceremonies

Command Sgt. Maj. Vernon Perry III, Command Sergeant Major, 85th Support Command shakes the hand of Shelby Iubel, wife of Pfc. Tyler Iubelt, thanking her for the sacrifice her husband made. Iubelt, who served with the First Cavalry Sustainment Brigade, was killed in Afghanistan on November 12, 2016. S. Iubelt said she was honored to see so many people reach out to show her and her mother-in-law so much love and support. Iubelt and her mother-in-law were recognized for their sacrifice during the Wreath Laying ceremony at the Richard J. Daley Plaza on May 27, 2017 in Chicago.
