PROFIS mission provides needed medical support at home and abroad

Sgt. 1st Class Jae Kang, the unit supply specialist for the 7452nd Medical Backfill Battalion, helps Maj. Priscilla Valbuena, a critical care nurse, who has been identified to prepare for a Professional Filler System (PROFIS) mission.  Soldiers mobilized to support this mission will backfill Medical Command’s active duty slots at medical centers and clinics across their health care organization.  Army Medical Department Professional Management Command (APMC) hosted the Soldier Readiness Processing (SRP) level 2 from 7-9 Jul., processing approximately 100 U.S. Army Reserve Soldiers from the 7452nd MBB during the 3-day event. The objective of the process is for Soldiers to be administratively, financially, legally, spiritually, logistically and medically ready to be mobilized after attending an SRP.

Army Reserve Major Dana Perkins, PhD, an assistant professor in the Global Health Division of the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences (USU) preventive medicine and biostatistics department, recently traveled to Tblisi, Georgia, to participate in the Defense Threat Reduction Agency’s (DTRA) DIABLO SHIELD training event and field exercise, in collaboration with the FBI Weapons of Mass Destruction (WMD) directorate.
