The 457th Civil Affairs Battalion hosted soldiers from Bulgaria, Hungary, Romania, Slovenia and the Republic of North Macedonia at a cultural awareness seminar and Multinational Civil-Military Co-operation Center planning conference April 27-28 at Camp Normandy, Grafenwoehr, Germany. The events were designed to prepare participants for the U.S. Army Europe summer exercises.

7th Mission Support Command Family Member Restores Hope

Nathan Perez works to restore a memorial to the late Erick Lynch on October 6, 2018, at what is now Kaiserslautern Middle School. Lynch was a Kaiserslautern American High School student killed in a hiking accident in 1998. For his Eagle Scout project, Perez led a small group of his Boy Scout Troop 232 fellows and their parents in the restoration project. The memorial had fallen into neglect over the years. Capt. Peter Ray Lopez, a native from Humacao, PR, dreamed of being in the military since he was a child. In December of 2007, his dream came true, and he joined the U.S. Army Reserve. Fort Buchanan, Puerto Rico.

Maj., thanked the surviving family members for their attendance. “I want to thank everyone who is present today for their support to this very important event,” said Harvey. “Gold Star Mothers and Survivors Day gives us the opportunity to remember and honor fallen service members, and acknowledge the enormous burden their Families continue to carry.”

The Army Reserve’s 85th Support Command senior leaders, along with soldiers assigned to the 3rd Battalion, 383rd Regiment, salute the Fallen Soldier battle cross display during a Fallen Soldier memorial held June 25, 2016 at the battalion in St. Louis. Capt. Antonio D. Brown, a 3-383rd member, was one of the 49 victims killed in the Orlando nightclub shooting June 12, 2016.
