FORT KNOX, Ky. –
The 100th Training Division (Leadership Development) welcomed their new senior noncommissioned officer, Command Sgt. Maj. Christian Davis, while also bidding a fond farewell to Command Sgt. Maj. Rogelio James in a change of responsibility ceremony Aug 8 at Haszard Auditorium at Fort Knox, Kentucky.
Brig. Gen. Martin Jung, commander of the 100th TD, presided over the ceremony and spoke about its significance.
“This is my first division command, but this is not my first change of responsibility,” Jung said. “It is, however, my most heartfelt.

Jung commended the senior noncoms saying that their pre-existing working relationship was a testament to their leadership.
“I think the friendship [between] you casts to your professionalism,” Jung said. “Your professionalism is higher than any two NCOs that I’ve ever served with.”
James said that the incoming Davis would have his work cut out for him, but that his replacement was built for this.
“Command Sergeant Major Davis, you’ve arrived during exciting times,” said James. “With the division’s new transition and new mission, you have the opportunity to shape [the division] in many areas going forward.
“I’m confident you’re the right man for the job.”
The 100th, like other Army and Army Reserve units, is restructuring to meet the changing needs of the modern battlefield and honing its ability to produce able to adapt to those changes.
Davis is no stranger to change and welcomes the challenge, but he said the division’s larger purpose and mission stays the same.
“I’d like to thank Gen. Jung for selecting me and giving me the opportunity to assume [this responsibility] of the mighty 100th,” Davis said. “I look forward to serving along side you, enhancing the battle, developing Soldiers, growing leaders and strengthening the course…
“I come into this role ready to listen, to learn and to lead. I’m grateful for this opportunity, ready for the road ahead and proud to be a part of the 100th Training Division.”
