The three-week fitness program took place from May 5-25 to help Soldiers who had either failed the Army Physical Fitness Test or had been on the Army Body Fat Composition program. The camp focused on the triad of overall health: physical fitness, nutrition and sleep, by providing education and personalized coaching to Soldiers in all three of those phases of life and more. Elizabeth Rodriguez, chief nutritionist with the 1207th U.S. Army Hospital, helps a student prepare ingredients during a healthy cooking demonstration July 20, 2016. Rodriguez conducted the class during an Innovative Readiness Training mission on the Lower Brule Indian Reservation located 61 miles southeast of Pierre, S.D. IRT allows Soldiers to use their skill set in real-world environments that positively impact communities.
