Chicago hosts a ‘Band of Brothers’ weekend

The famed Easy Company became widely known in part due to an HBO mini series called Band of Brothers. The 506th PIR was an experimental airborne regiment created in 1942 in Toccoa, Georgia that served in World War II.

Blood and hostage takers: U.S. Army Reserve special agents train at Capital Shield for the first time

Two U.S. Army special agents process a crime scene during Capital Shield 2016 at Fort Belvoir, Virginia, Sept. 13. Approximately 15 U.S. Army Reserve criminal investigative special agents trained alongside 25 active duty agents for the first time in a joint training exercise known as Capital Shield, focusing on crime scene processing, evidence management and hostage negotiations, held Sept. 13-15. The reserve Soldiers participating in this year's Capital Shield are agents from the 733rd Military Police Battalion (Criminal Investigation Division), headquartered in Fort Gillem, Georgia, which reports to the 200th Military Police Command. Army Reserve leaders collaborate, coordinate, communicate and cooperate to ensure readiness

Soldiers from several Army Reserve public affairs units participate in pre-deployment training during the 99th Regional Support Command’s five-day Staff Exercise Aug. 8-12 at command headquarters on Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst, New Jersey. The STAFFEX was designed to integrate the 99th RSC’s full-time military and civilian employees with the command’s Troop Program Unit (TPU) Soldiers in a scenario-driven exercise to test various processes and personnel as they relate to Defense Support of Civil Authorities.

88th RSC’s Operation Platinum Support puts Soldiers to work turning wrenches and improving readiness

As part of his U.S. Army Reserve Annual Training participation in the 88th Regional Support Command's Operation Platinum Support mission, Sgt. Bryant Vannoy with the 298th Support Maintenance Company out of Altoona, Pa., removes the wheel of a FMTV for annual service and maintenance at the 88th RSC’s Equipment Concentration Site 67 on Fort McCoy, July 28. Operation Platinum Support allows Army Reserve Soldiers in low-density supply and maintenance specialties to perform and gain proficiency in their technical skills while acting in direct support to the numerous exercises taking place on Fort McCoy.
