Parks Reserve Forces Training Area Focuses on Resilient Energy
July 31, 2023 — Exciting energy-focused initiatives continue at Parks Reserve Forces Training Area (PRFTA) in Dublin, CA. On 14 July, the installation held an official ribbon cutting ceremony for two Level 3 and five Level 2 new electric vehicle dual port charging stations. This makes PRFTA the first military installation to install the chargers under a pilot program partnership with the Defense Innovation Unit (DIU). 88th Readiness Division energy program contributes to unit readiness

Microgrid to Generate Net Zero for Fort Hunter Liggett

October 2, 2020 — Devens Reserve Forces Training Area (RFTA), Massachusetts, has been hard at work to find innovative ways to increase recycling and divert waste from the local landfill. One of the newest initiatives added to their Directorate of Public Works (DPW) environmental services portfolio is a food waste collection program (provided through their local hauler) that will not only divert waste, but turn that waste into energy through a process known as anaerobic digestion (AD). ...
