NEW YORK –
The U.S. Army Reserve was busy here this past Veterans Day honoring those who have served in uniform throughout the nation’s history.
Maj. Gen. Rodney Faulk, commanding general of the U.S. Army Reserve’s 99th Readiness Division, represented the service at several events from midtown to downtown.
“I think it’s something always worth celebrating,” said Faulk during an interview with NBC TV at the 103rd New York City Veterans Day Parade, where he joined Secretary of the Navy Carlos Del Toro and other military dignitaries on the reviewing stand.
Marching in the parade was a combined 99th RD Band comprised of Soldiers from the division’s 78th, 198th and 380th Army Bands, as well as a contingent of service members representing Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst, New Jersey, where the 99th is headquartered.
Faulk also spoke with ABC TV during the parade, and took part in a wreath-laying ceremony just prior to the parade’s kickoff. He began his day with an early morning appearance on FOX & Friends along with members of the 78th Army Band.
Faulk also appeared on CNBC as he helped ring the opening bell at the New York Stock Exchange along with uniformed members from all branches of military service.
