Army Reserve unit celebrates the Army Reserve’s birthday by giving back

Army Reserve Soldiers from 1st Battalion, 383rd Training Support Battalion, 166th Aviation Brigade, First Army Division West – based at Fort Des Moines- work together with the City of Des Moines Parks and Recreation Department to remove logs and brush from Greenwood Park in Des Moines, Iowa, on April 5. This was the first step in allowing the park to return to a more natural state after a rough winter there. Following the cleanup project, the soldiers returned to their reserve center where they hosted their 106th birthday celebration of the Army Reserve with Mayor Pro Tem T.H. North Carolina professional storyteller, Mitchell G. Capel presents works by Paul L. Dunbar, a Civil War era poet and former slave, to the U.S. Army Reserve audience, Feb. 5, 2014, at Fort Bragg, N.C. The "brown bag" presentation was a part of the command's Black History Month celebration.

Civil Affairs soldiers to compete in US Army Reserve Best Warrior Competition

the U.S. Army Civil Affairs & Psychological Operations Command (Airborne) Best Warrior Competition complete the final lap of the two-mile run portion of their Army Physical Fitness Test on the Fort Bragg Noncommissioned Officers Academy track at Fort Bragg, N.C., April 29. U.S. Army Civil Affairs & Psychological Operations Command (Airborne) competitors came from around the country to compete in this years's Best Warrior Competition held at Fort Bragg, N.C., April 29 through May 3, to earn the honor of representing the command at the U.S. Army Reserve Command's competition in June.
