Relevant joint training creates team efficiencies, best practices

Army Reserve Medical Command Soldiers from Tampa-based 7222nd Medical Support Unit joined Soldiers from F Company, 5-159th Aviation MEDEVAC unit and Air Force personnel with 927th Aeromedical Staging Training Squadron to execute their portion of the MASCAL exercise on MacDill Air Force Base.  Soldier trainers from F Co. Aviation MEDEVAC Unit go over guidelines for loading casualties into their aircraft.  Training for mass casualty events is conducted to improve efficiencies in how patients are handled to address as many affected personnel as possible based on the severity of the injury and number of patients needing assistance.

US Army Reserve Aviation command hosts National American Indian Heritage Month Observance

Members of the Red Road Awareness, a non-profit organization that was created to assist American Indians in crisis, perform a traditional Native American dance during the National American Indian Heritage Month observance Nov. 20 at Fort Knox, Ky. U.S. Army Reserve soldiers from the 11th Theater Aviation Command (TAC), headquartered at Fort Knox, co-hosted this event in order to recognize the significant contributions that American Indians made to the establishment and growth of the U.S. The 11th Theater Aviation Command (TAC) is the only aviation command in the Army Reserve. The 11th TAC has two missions, functioning as both a warfighting headquarters and as a functional command. As warfighting command, the 11th TAC provides command & control, staff planning, and supervision for two aviation brigades and one air traffic service battalion. Army Reserve aviation unit conducts firefighting training mission

U.S. Army Reserve Soldiers of A Company, 2-238th Aviation Regiment, 11th Aviation Command, conduct water bucket training from a UH-60L Black Hawk helicopter in Hemet, Calif., Feb. 10, 2015. This training was conducted to give the unit the ability to provide Cal Fire support in fighting California wildfires.
