CAMP BUEHRING, Kuwait - Visual graphic made with Adobe Illustrator of the 11th anniversary remembering the fallen U.S. service members of Extortion 17, August 5, 2022. Extortion 17 was the callsign of the CH-47D Chinook helicopter that crashed after being struck by a rocket propelled grenade on August 6, 2011, killing all 30 U.S. service members inside the aircraft, including a pilot and flight crew with 7th Battalion, 158th Aviation Regiment (General Support Aviation Battalion). The fallen 7-158th GSAB Soldiers are U.S. Army Chief Warrant Officer 2 Bryan Nichols of Hays, Kansas, U.S. Army Sgt. Alexander Bennett of Tacoma, Washington, and U.S. Army Spc.
