Medics form teams in chaotic situations

FORT McCOY, Wis. - U.S. Army Reserve Capt. Brian Allen, 807th Medical Command (Deployment Support) based in Salt Lake City, Utah, performs cardiopulmonary resuscitation on a patient wearing a Human Worn Partial Task Surgical Simulator otherwise known as the “cut suit” while Lt. Col. Andrew Stevens, 807th MC (DS) performs surgery on the patient wearing the cut suit as Lt. Col. Stephanie Parks, 2nd Medical Brigade, monitors the situation during a three-day training mission at the Mayo Clinic Multidisciplinary Simulation Center (MMSC) in Rochester, Minn., Nov. 20, 2021. Training at the MMSC provided a unique setting for U.S. Army Reserve Soldiers to advance their team efficiencies and communication, utilizing the tools and strategies essential within the Team Strategies and Tools to Enhance Performance and Patient Safety structure.
