Salt Lake City, Utah - In January 2020, Maj. Stephanie Wire travelled to South Sudan with the 411th Civil Affair Battalion Veterinary Cell to conduct training with local veterinarians and laboratory technicians of the National Veterinary Laboratory in Juba, South Sudan. Part of the training included clinical veterinary training such as conducting physical exams, parasitology and collecting specimens and samples. Here, Maj. Wire trained the seminar attendees on blood collection from a calf. The sample was later tested for Foot and Mouth Disease.
