September 11 attacks led junior high student towards a journey of service
Soldiers conduct live mortar fire exercise with the mortar section from Bravo Troop, 5th Squadron, 73rd Cavalry Regiment at Fort Pickett, Virginia in 2012. While the September 11, 2001 attacks planted the seed for Maj. Jason Stoterau to join the military, it was his family’s legacy of service, along with the years of war in Iraq and Afghanistan that led a young high school student to ultimately serve his nation.
