Super Typhoon Yutu Recovery Efforts
U.S. Navy Sailors with Naval Beach Unit 7 out of Sasebo, Japan, guide a Landing Craft Utility to a port in Saipan, Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands, Nov. 18, 2018. The LCU carried personnel and equipment assigned to Joint Task Group-Saipan, Task Force-West, off the USS Ashland to support Super Typhoon Yutu recovery efforts in Saipan. Service members from Joint Region Marianas and other units from within U.S. Indo-Pacific Command assigned to Task Force-West are providing Department of Defense support to the CNMI’s civil and local officials as part of the FEMA-supported Typhoon Yutu recovery efforts.
