Building community partnerships for military sexual assault victims
Phyllis Miller, a 30-year experienced Licensed Clinical Social Worker for the Day League Sexual Assault Care and Prevention Center formerly known as the DeKalb Rape Crisis Center, leads Kyana Nesbitt, the Lead Sexual Assault Response Coordinator (SARC) for the 3d Medical Command (Deployment Support), on a tour of the facility. Miller shows Nesbitt powerful statements created on t-shirts by victims during group therapy sessions as a way of healing from sexual assault and abuse. Nesbitt paid a visit to the facility to discuss community resources available to military sexual assault victims.
