70 years of flight
U.S. Army Col. Michael Harvey (left), executive officer to the commanding general of I Corps, and Chief Warrant Officer Jim Israel, I Corps senior warrant officer, watch a OH-58D Kiowa Warrior take off from an airfield in Yongin, South Korea, Aug. 29, 2016. Both men logged thousands of hours flying the OH-58 during their Army careers. The helicopter belonged to the 1st Squadron, 17th Cavalry Regiment, the last squadron of OH-58’s. Once the 1-17th’s deployment is over the Army will retire all of its OH-58’s, replacing them with the farther-reaching Apaches and Blackhawks. (U.S. Army photo by Staff Sgt. Ken Scar)
