U.S. Army officers graduate among hundreds of Kings Pointers
Maj. Gen. Phillip Churn, commanding general of the 200th Military Police Command, U.S. Army Reserve, a native of Washington, D.C., administers the Oath of Commissioned Officers to a group of six midshipmen commissioning into the U.S. Army at the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy in Kings Point, New York, during a private commissioning ceremony June 18. The 2016 graduating class included 229 senior midshipmen, each earning a Bachelor of Science degree, a direct commission into the armed forces and a U.S. Coast Guard license.
