FORT McCOY, Wis. - Pfc. Ryan Catton (left) and Pvt. Dakota Thompson use a silhouette target to improvise an oval charge, at Fort McCoy, Wis., on July 16, 2021, as fellow Soldiers observe. The Army Reserve Soldiers are Combat Engineers with the 469th Engineer Company, Dodgeville, Wis., and are training on the construction and deployment of half a dozen different explosive charges. The day's agenda included the execution of door and wall breaches, so all the Soldiers in the unit got to experience the making and detonation of live charges.
