ASC-ARE holds change of responsibility ceremony

By Maj. Jackeline VelazquezRosario U.S. Army Sustainment Command

The U.S. Army Sustainment Command – Army Reserve Element bid farewell to Command Sgt. Maj. Scott White and welcomed Command Sgt. Maj. Amy Alcaraz in a change of responsibility ceremony here at Heritage Hall on July 17.

The ASC-ARE provides trained and ready Soldiers in support of ASC’s global mission. They are integrated with the Army Field Support Battalions to conduct operational staff support in the areas of intelligence, readiness analysis, operations, and integrated logistics support.

Alcaraz will be joining the team after serving as the battalion command sergeant major at 16th Psychological Operations Battalion in Fort Sheridan, Illinois.

Scott performed duties as the command sergeant major for three years and will move on to serve at Camp Parks, California.

The brigade continues to mobilize and deploy Soldiers in support of ASC, deliver staff expertise by fulfilling CONUS-based missions, and augment the AFSB’s staff using battle assemblies and annual training.
