FORT MEAD, Md. -- –
The U.S. Army Reserve Survivor Outreach Services will host the 2017 annual Operation Love Letter event during the month of February at various locations around the country around Valentine Day to honor and celebrate fallen Soldiers and surviving family members through hand-written love letters.
Operation Love Letter evolved as an event in which survivors gather to honor and celebrate their fallen Soldiers’ love for country by writing letters and sharing personal stories. Previous Operation Love Letter events have been recognized as a way for survivors to find peer-to-peer support, gain spiritual resilience and interact with command leadership, Family Program directors, chaplains and other community partners.
Operation Love Letter aligns with the Army Reserve’s mission to support survivors in staying connect to the Army for as long as they desire, with access to military units and support programs in their own communities.
