Army’s vice chief celebrates service’s 250th birthday at nation’s birthplace
Gen. James Mingus, the vice chief of staff of the U.S. Army, served as keynote speaker at the Army’s 250th birthday celebration held in Philadelphia June 14 on Independence Mall. The event, which was hosted by the Philadelphia Chapter of the Association of the United States Army, was held a block away from Independence Hall, where on June 14, 1775, the Second Continental Congress passed a resolution to establish the Continental Army.
