Suicide prevention liaison training teaches unit representatives lifesaving skills
Tifini Steif, right, Suicide Prevention Program Manager, 85th U.S. Army Reserve Support Command, discusses a classroom exercise with a student during a tier 2 Ask, Care, Escort – Suicide Prevention training event held at the 85th USARSC headquarters, April 4-6, 2023. 18 Soldiers from units across the 85th USARSC’s 45 battalions were appointed to conduct the training and stand as their units’ Suicide Prevention Program Liaison representative, and learned how to identify risk factors, how to intervene and support Soldiers in crisis. The training taught the process for suicide ideation related Command Directed Mental Health Evaluation, Command Critical Incident Reports and Line of Duty.
