Guardian Response 22
A search and rescue Soldier of the Army Reserve’s 409th Engineer Company, Windsor, Colorado, records information for team members during search and rescue training at Muscatatuck Urban Training Center, April 29. The unit responded to a simulated explosion in a multistory urban building, evaluated chemical threats and extracted simulated casualties. The recorded information left by team members communicates where future teams can resume a search, possible threats encountered and casualty information. The training was part of Guardian Response 22, a multicomponent Homeland Emergency Response Exercise run by the Army Reserve’s 78th Training Division. (US Army photo by SFC Monte Swift, 204th PAD)
