U.S. Army Reserve Officer and Students Donate School Supplies
A student from Ellsworth High School stacks boxes of donated school supplies at the Sparta, Wisconsin National Guard Armory, Dec. 13, 2021. Afghan evacuees will receive a backpack with a pencil sharpener, construction paper, small personal dry erase board and markers, pencils, notebooks, pens and crayons. The Department of Defense, through U.S. Northern Command, and in support of the Department of Homeland Security, is providing transportation, temporary housing, medical screening, and general support for at least 50,000 Afghan evacuees at suitable facilities, in permanent or temporary structures, as quickly as possible.
