Soldiers hone skills in virtual sandbox
U.S. Army Reserve Soldiers from the 388th Chemical Company engage targets from the kneeling position in the Engagement Skills Trainer at Fort McCoy, Wis., on Feb. 20, 2021. In this context, the 388th Soldiers are using the EST to familiarize themselves with the Army's new, combat focused, rifle qualification. Soldiers must fire from various positions, change a magazine, and remedy any weapons malfunctions on their own, without a time out, or do-over, called “alibi fire” in military parlance.
