Cold-Weather Operations Course
A U.S. Marine attending the Cold-Weather Operations Course (CWOC) uses an ax to shorten a branch that he plans to use to build shelter Feb. 4, 2020, at Fort McCoy, Wisconsin. CWOC is designed to provide units with a subject-matter expert in cold-weather operations. The course focuses on correct wear and usage of equipment, first aid, patrol base operations and other courses related to survival in an environment with extremely cold weather.
