Cold-Weather Operations Course
Sgt. 1st Class Shawn Girgen, a U.S. Army Reserve Soldier assigned to the 457th Transportation Battalion, 644th Regional Support Group, 103rd Sustainment Command, 377th Sustainment Command, moves his sleeping bag into the shelter he built to protect himself from the environment while attending the Cold-Weather Operations Course (CWOC) on Feb. 4, 2020, at Fort McCoy, Wisconsin. CWOC is designed to provide units with a subject-matter expert in cold-weather operations. The course focuses on correct wear and usage of equipment, first aid, patrol base operations and other courses related to survival in an environment with extremely cold weather.
