Army Reserve Engineers build schools for Guatemalan communities
HUEHUETENANGO, Guatemala - U.S. Army National Guard Sgt. 1st Class Filipinas Benitez, a religious affairs specialist with Headquarters and Headquarters Detachment, 96th Troop Command out of Tacoma, Wash., and U.S. Army Reserve Spc. Alex Lochner, a carpentry masonry specialist with 760th Engineer Company based in Marion, Va., lay blocks at the construction of a new building at Las Lagunas school site during exercise Beyond the Horizon. Beyond the Horizon is a joint annual training exercise that combines medical, dental, veterinary and engineering missions to improve the operational readiness of U.S. Forces and reinforce regional stability and interoperability with allied forces, resulting in tangible benefits to the people of Guatemala.
