Army Reserve Soldier awarded for life-saving actions during deadly mass shooting
Army Reserve Sgt. James Lawson poses on a Port Hueneme, Calif. beachhead after a ceremony in which he was awarded the Army Commendation Medal April 5, 2019. Lawson received the medal for his life-saving application of a tourniquet on a concert-goer during the Las Vegas Shooting October 1, 2017 which killed 58 people and stands as the deadliest single day mass shooting in U.S. history.
