The 652nd Regional Support Group conducted a farewell ceremony Wednesday for more than 100 U.S. Army Reserve Soldiers of the 890th Transportation Company deploying to the Middle East in support of Operation Spartan Shield. It was standing room only as families, friends and community leaders packed the Redwoods Conference Center to honor their local heroes and to wish them a safe and successful mission. A show of force by members of the U.S. Marine Corps League, Logan Police Department and the Patriot Guard Riders were in full display as they escorted the Soldiers to the airport for further travels to Fort Hood.
