ARMEDCOM and Winn Army Community Hospital: Building readiness for the total force
Pfc. William Nolte, a combat medic assigned to 7226th Medical Support Unit, based out of Fort Jackson, South Carolina, works with Sgt. Major Brown, a chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear specialist assigned to 83rd Chemical Bn,, in the vitals section on Dec. 12, as part of the medical Soldier Readiness Processing mission at Mower Processing Center on Fort Stewart, Georgia. Functionally aligned to U.S. Army Medical Command, ARMEDCOM is uniquely capable of simultaneously providing military hospital and clinic expansion, augmentation, blood donor services, dental and veterinary services while remaining postured to provide assistance to civil authorities during an emergency or disaster. Medical personnel from Winn Army Community Hospital were key to ensuring ARMEDCOM units were equipped and ready to execute their training mission at Fort Stewart, Georgia.
